Kernel crash via unchecked DRM error pointer

Improper exceptional-condition handling in affected Linux kernels allows local users to crash the kernel through the STI HQVDP DRM path. sti_hqvdp_atomic_check dereferences the crtc_state result from drm_atomic_get_crtc_state without first checking whether the call returned an error pointer. Reachability requires low-privileged local access and the affected STMicroelectronics HQVDP display-driver path; the published impact is limited to service interruption.
