Stored DOM-based XSS via unescaped lightbox attributes
Published Mar 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored DOM-based XSS in Responsive Lightbox & Gallery and WP Featherlight allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. Bundled Featherlight.js 1.7.13 through 1.7.14 consumes user-controlled lightbox attributes without adequate sanitization or output escaping before DOM use. Contributor-level access permits persistent injection, and the script executes in a visitor's browser when an injected page is viewed.
