Stored script execution via unescaped button URL
Published Jun 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Extensions for Elementor 2.0.30 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through EE Button URLs. The EE Button widget stores its url setting without sufficient input sanitization and renders it without sufficient output escaping. Contributor-level access is required; the injected script executes in the browser of anyone who visits the affected page, enabling page-context data access or modification.
