Kernel memory corruption via reused coredump buffer
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in the btmtk Bluetooth driver in Linux 6.6 allows adjacent attackers to corrupt kernel memory via coredump packets. After hci_devcd_append queues and can release an skb, btmtk_process_coredump reads fields and data from that freed buffer. Exploitation requires a MediaTek Bluetooth controller entering firmware coredump handling; the stale access can crash the kernel or corrupt kernel memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
