Kernel packet-state corruption via stale per-CPU offsets
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Race condition in nft_inner in Linux kernel 6.2 through 6.6.65, 6.7 through 6.12.4, and 6.13-rc1 allows local users to corrupt parsing. A softirq can interrupt process-context packet walking while both use a per-CPU area, restoring offsets for the wrong sk_buff or tunnel without validating its cookie, parse-complete flag, or tunnel type. Low-privileged local access is required; stale offsets corrupt inner-header interpretation, while public sources document no reliable exploit outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
