Local kernel memory corruption via undersized transfer buffers

Heap buffer overflow in the AD7923 IIO ADC driver in affected Linux kernels allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via IIO sysfs. ad7923_update_scan_mode() sizes tx_buf and ring_xfer for four transfers but iterates the active scan mask for eight-channel AD7908, AD7918, and AD7928 devices. Access to writable IIO scan-element and buffer controls on one of those SPI ADC devices is required; triggering five or more channels overwrites adjacent kernel heap state and crashes the kernel.
