Kernel memory corruption via stale radio pointer
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel 6.10 ath12k driver allows local users to trigger an invalid memory write during module removal. The ath12k_dp_cc_cleanup() path reuses an ar pointer from a pending packet after ath12k_mac_destroy() has freed the associated radio and hardware objects. Reachability requires compatible ath12k wireless hardware, queued data during teardown, and privileged module removal; the published trace confirms memory corruption but not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
