CVE-2024-56529Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session hijacking via unrotated attacker-chosen PHPSESSID

Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Mar 14, 2025

Session fixation in the mailcow web panel through 2024-11b allows remote attackers to access a victim's authenticated session. The login handler accepts an attacker-chosen PHPSESSID from the browser and authenticates it without invalidating or rotating the existing identifier. Exploitation requires HSTS to be disabled in the victim's browser and the victim to log in after the identifier is fixed.
