Service hang via unlimited HTTP payload acceptance
Published Apr 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Snowplow Collector 3.x before 3.3.0 allows remote attackers to cause a service hang via oversized payloads. HTTP request handling accepts and processes bodies without enforcing a payload-size limit, allowing oversized bodies to exhaust service resources. Exposure requires direct access without a reverse proxy that limits payload sizes; an unresponsive Collector stops events from entering the pipeline and can cause data loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
