Browser script execution via unchecked link URLs
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated Dec 27, 2024
Reflected XSS in Kovah LinkAce before 1.15.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript when a victim opens a crafted link. LinkStoreRequest and LinkUpdateRequest accepted the URL field as an arbitrary string, permitting a javascript scheme to reach a rendered link without URL validation. Exploitation requires permission to create or edit a link and a victim to click it; script execution occurs in the victim's browser context and can expose session data or perform actions as that victim.
