Authenticated file disclosure via dot-dot URL traversal
Published Feb 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Path traversal in IBM Power Hardware Management Console 10.3.1050.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary system files. The restricted bash environment accepts crafted URL requests containing dot-dot path segments without constraining the resolved path to an authorized directory. Authentication to the network-facing console is required, and successful exploitation discloses files readable by the affected service without altering them.
