Stored XSS via unsafe popup attribute rendering
Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Stored XSS in multiple WordPress extensions through various affected versions allows remote authenticated users to inject browser scripts. Bundled Magnific Popup 1.1.0 inserts unsanitized attribute-derived HTML into popup status, template, and image-title fields. Contributor-level access is required to store the attributes; the script executes in a visitor's browser with access to that visitor's session context.
