Application crash via unchecked null ciphertext
Published Dec 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in OpenFHE 1.2.3 and earlier allows local users to crash a consuming application through EvalFloor. BinFHEContext::EvalFloor forwards a null ciphertext to BinFHEScheme::EvalFloor, which reads its modulus without first validating the pointer. Reachability requires local control over an application's EvalFloor argument, and the demonstrated consequence is process termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
