CVE-2024-56428Public exploit

Server credential disclosure via cleartext CONFIGS storage

Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025

Cleartext credential storage in itech iLabClient 3.7.1 allows local users to read server passwords from the local client database. The Apache Derby iLabClient database stores configuration passwords without encryption in the CONFIGS table, where a SQL query returns them. A low-privileged local user must connect while the client is not accessing the database; disclosure exposes credentials for configured laboratory servers.
