CVE-2024-56363Public exploit

Code execution via unsandboxed report template rendering

Published Dec 23, 2024 · Updated Dec 24, 2024

Server-side template injection in APTRS 1.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary Python code through crafted report fields. APTRS/project/report.py renders CKEditor-managed values during DOCX generation with an unrestricted Jinja2 Environment, treating injected expressions as template code. A low-privileged account that can create a project, populate its report fields, and generate a Word report can execute code in the server process and read, alter, or interrupt application data.
