CVE-2024-56334Public exploit

Command execution via unsanitized wireless SSID

Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 24, 2024

Command injection in systeminformation before 5.23.7 allows physically proximate attackers to execute commands through a malicious Wi-Fi SSID. getWindowsWirelessIfaceSSID reads the connected SSID from netsh output, and getWindowsIEEE8021x inserts it unescaped into a cmd.exe command. Exploitation requires a Windows host to connect to an attacker-controlled wireless network and invoke networkInterfaces(), after which commands run with the Node.js process's privileges.
