Denial of service via hanging Server Action requests
Published Jan 3, 2025 · Updated Jan 3, 2025
Denial of service in Server Actions in affected Vercel Next.js releases allows remote attackers to hang HTTP requests indefinitely. Server Action request handling keeps an attacker-controlled connection open while awaiting a request that never completes, leaving execution pending until the host cancels it. Only deployments using Server Actions are affected; absent a long-running invocation timeout, connections remain occupied and time-based hosting charges can accumulate.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
