Authenticated local file disclosure via unchecked browser URL
Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 27, 2024
Path traversal in Louis Lam Uptime Kuma 1.23.0 through 1.23.15 and 2.0.0-beta.0 allows remote authenticated users to read local files. The real-browser monitor passes the submitted URL to Playwright page.goto without server-side scheme validation, so file URLs are rendered into screenshots. A logged-in account that can create a real-browser monitor is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Uptime Kuma process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
