Host script execution via unrestricted backup path
Published Jan 3, 2025 · Updated Jan 3, 2025
Improper path validation in Thoughtworks GoCD 18.9.0 through 24.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts as the GoCD user. BackupService accepts a configured post-backup script path without rejecting canonical paths inside pipeline workspaces or non-backup artifact storage. GoCD administrator access is required, and additional host access arises where GoCD administration is separated from host administration.
