Stored XSS via unsanitized calendar event notes
Published Dec 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stored XSS in REDCap Calendar through 14.9.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary web scripts through event notes. The Calendar Notes field stores attacker-supplied script markup without neutralizing it before the saved note is rendered to another project member. A normal project user can plant the payload, but execution requires another project member to click the calendar note; the script runs in that viewer's browser context.
