Elevated code execution via untrusted search paths
Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Untrusted search path handling in B&R APROL R 4.2-07P3 and earlier and R 4.4-00P3 and earlier allows local users to execute elevated code. AprolConfigureCCServices insufficiently constrains the search paths it uses, allowing attacker-supplied code to run under the service's elevated privileges. Exploitation requires a low-privileged APROL account and access to an affected system node; successful exploitation grants elevated code execution on that node.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
