CVE-2024-56202Network attack vector

Service degradation via Expect header resource retention

Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated Mar 6, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Apache Traffic Server 9.0.0 through 9.2.8 and 10.0.0 through 10.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to retain resources. Apache has disclosed only that the Expect request-header field can unreasonably retain a resource; no affected function or faulty operation is public. Reaching the condition requires network access and low privileges, and repeated retention degrades proxy availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
