Model deletion via unvalidated cross-origin requests
Published Jul 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Mudler LocalAI before 2.17 allows remote attackers to delete installed models through the web UI. The model deletion route accepts state-changing cross-origin POST requests without validating a CSRF token. Exploitation requires a LocalAI user to load an attacker-controlled page while the service is reachable, and the effect is limited to model deletion.
