Subscriber-level code execution via unchecked ZIP extraction
Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in VibeThemes WPLMS before 1.9.9.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a web shell. The wp_ajax_zip_upload handler checks only that the outer filename ends in .zip, then extractZip passes every archive member to ZipArchive::extractTo without validating its type. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to place an executable PHP file in a web-accessible upload directory, enabling server-side code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
