Administrator account creation via caller-controlled default role
Published Dec 31, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in VibeThemes WPLMS 1.9.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to register Administrator accounts. The wplms_register_user function copies a caller-controlled default_role setting into the registration role field passed to wp_insert_user. The unauthenticated AJAX action accepts the crafted registration request when its signup nonce is valid, granting complete WordPress site control through the new account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
