Forced attachment download via stored iframe
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Dec 13, 2024
UI misrepresentation in phpMyFAQ before 3.2.10 allows remote authenticated users to force attachment downloads through FAQ pages. The FAQ record editor stores attacker-supplied iframe source that references a previously uploaded attachment, and browsers fetch the attachment route when the saved record is rendered. Administrative FAQ-editing and attachment-upload privileges are required; a page visit then places attacker-chosen content on the visitor machine, although browser confirmation varies.
