Stored XSS via unsanitized hide-text setting
Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Syed Balkhi Table of Contents Plus through 2408 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through settings. The Hide text setting stores editor-supplied markup without sanitization or output escaping and renders it with a qualifying table of contents. Editor-level access is required even when unfiltered_html is disabled, and execution requires a privileged user to view an affected post.
