CVE-2024-55532

Spreadsheet formula execution via unsanitized CSV cells

Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 4, 2025

CSV injection in Apache Ranger before 2.6.0 allows attackers to trigger spreadsheet formulas through exported policy data. ServiceDBStore writes policy-derived values directly into CSV and workbook cells without neutralizing leading formula characters. Exploitation requires permission to supply policy values and a user to open the export in a formula-enabled spreadsheet, where formulas run with that user's access.
