CVE-2024-55456Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via invalid raster-cell read

Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

A segmentation fault in LunaSVG 3.0.1 allows context-dependent attackers to crash applications that render a crafted SVG file. During path rasterization, gray_find_cell in bundled plutovg-ft-raster.c reads an invalid memory address while locating a raster cell. The target application must process attacker-controlled SVG content; the demonstrated consequence is a process abort, with no reported data disclosure or code execution.
