Authenticated code execution via unchecked upload extension
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in DevDojo Voyager 1.8.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP code. VoyagerMediaController@upload validates the sniffed MIME type but preserves the client-supplied extension when storeAs writes the file. An account with browse_media permission can upload an image/PHP polyglot with a .php extension; code execution requires the web server to process the stored file as PHP.
