Arbitrary file deletion via unvalidated absolute path
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Path traversal in DevDojo Voyager 1.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via crafted Compass links. The Compass controller base64-decodes the del parameter, and pathToLogFile returns any existing absolute path without restricting it to the log directory before deletion. An authenticated administrator must open the link; successful exploitation deletes a server-side file and can interrupt the application.
