Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jun 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in GamiPress – Link 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through gamipress_link shortcode attributes. The shortcode handler places inadequately sanitized and escaped user-controlled attributes into generated link markup. Contributor-level access is required, and injected scripts execute when another user visits the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or page actions.
