CVE-2024-5513

Code execution via malformed JP2 buffer write

Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Tungsten Automation Power PDF 5.0.0.57 (5.0.0.10.0.23307) allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted JP2 file. Its JP2 parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, allowing a write beyond the allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful exploitation runs code in the current process context.
