Code execution via unchecked JP2 parser read
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in the JP2 parser in Tungsten Automation Power PDF 5.0.0.57 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted file. The JP2 parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading an allocated object, so processing can access memory beyond its end. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file and runs code in the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
