Server code execution via external entity resolution
Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
XXE injection in Chat2DB 0.3.5 /datagrip/upload allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through crafted XML. The endpoint accepts a DataSourceSettings payload in the text query parameter and resolves an attacker-defined remote parameter entity during XML parsing. The published proof of concept supplies session cookies, although CISA assesses no privileges are required; successful exploitation executes code in the server context.
