Authenticated code execution via unsanitized locale settings
Published May 19, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Command injection in EasyVirt DC NetScope 8.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through web requests. The locale-setting endpoints pass the lang, keyboard_layout, keyboard_variant, and timezone parameters to shell processing without neutralizing command separators. A valid authenticated session is required; injected shell commands run on the appliance and grant control over its data and services.
