Session compromise via Favorites CSRF script injection
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Nagios XI 2024R1.2.2 allows remote attackers to execute script in an authenticated user's session via Favorites CSRF. The Favorites component accepts a cross-origin POST without validating request origin or an anti-CSRF token, allowing the request to inject script content. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to submit the attacker-controlled request; the resulting script can compromise that session or perform unauthorized application actions.
