Stored script execution via custom tool URL
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Stored XSS in the Nagios XI 2024R1.2.2 Tools page allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in other users' browsers. The Neptune interface stores custom tool URLs without restricting schemes to HTTP or HTTPS, so a script-bearing URL executes when the tool is rendered. A read-only account can add the crafted tool; exploitation still requires another user to access the Tools page, exposing that user's session to unauthorized actions or data access.
