CVE-2024-54772Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Username enumeration via WinBox response-length oracle

Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 24, 2025

Information disclosure in MikroTik RouterOS before 6.49.18 or 7.18 allows remote attackers to enumerate WinBox usernames. WinBox returns a 51-byte login response for an existing username but 35 bytes for an invalid one, creating a response-length oracle. No credentials are needed, but WinBox must be reachable; the default firewall confines access to the LAN, and the disclosure does not reveal passwords.
