Stored XSS via MIME-sniffed document upload
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Vtiger CRM 6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript by uploading a crafted document. CRMEntity.php's uploadAndSaveFile function rejects only blacklisted extensions, leaving other uploaded files web-accessible without nosniff protection, so browsers interpret embedded script. The payload runs only when a victim opens the uploaded file, exposing or altering data accessible to that browser session.
