Uncontrolled resource consumption in Apache Tomcat's examples web application allows remote attackers to crash the server through uploads. The affected upload examples read request data without size limits until heap exhaustion raises an OutOfMemoryError. Exploitation requires the bundled examples application to remain deployed and reachable; the failure interrupts the entire Tomcat process.
