SNMP credential disclosure via plaintext diagnostic captures
Published Feb 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Cleartext secret storage in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.2.0 allows attackers to recover SNMPv3 credentials from diagnostic captures. The configupload and supportsave capture paths serialize privsecret and authsecret values without encryption when the persistent SNMPv3 password-encryption flag is off. Access to one of those captures is required; recovered credentials permit supported OID reads and modification of a limited set of MIB objects.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
