CVE-2024-5460Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated SNMP data access via default community string

Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in SNMPv1 in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.0.0 allow remote authenticated users to read device data through SNMP queries. The SNMP daemon configuration supplies a static default community string and accepts that shared value from SNMPv1 requests instead of requiring a deployment-specific secret. Exposure requires SNMPv1 to remain enabled and the default community string to remain unchanged; successful queries disclose switch-management data.
