Quarantine bypass in AirDrop before iOS and iPadOS 17.6, macOS 14.6, and visionOS 1.3 allows attackers to deliver unquarantined files. The AirDrop file-receipt state machine fails to consistently attach the quarantine flag, although Apple has not disclosed the faulty transition or code path. An attacker must transfer a file through AirDrop; the bounded result is a received file lacking quarantine metadata, with no separate impact reported by Apple.
