CVE-2024-5445Network attack vector

Traffic interception via improper certificate validation

Published Aug 8, 2024 · Updated Jan 7, 2025

Improper certificate validation in N-able Ecosystem Agent 4 before 4.1.5.2597 and 5 before 5.1.4.2473 allows attackers to intercept traffic. The agent’s TLS client accepts improperly validated server certificates when connecting to N-able servers, enabling an interposed endpoint to read and alter the protected exchange. A privileged network position is required, and successful interception exposes agent-server communications without user interaction.
