Stored XSS via unescaped album name
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in NextGEN Gallery before 3.59.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted album name. The Manage Albums workflow stores an unsanitized album name, and the Gutenberg album picker renders that value without escaping. Administrator access is required, and execution occurs when a user selects the poisoned album in the block editor, exposing that user's session to script actions.
