Stored XSS via unescaped category name
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Simple Online Bidding System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject script via a category name. The save_category() function in admin_class.php accepts POST category parameters without validation or escaping and concatenates them into an SQL INSERT, storing the name for rendering on the home page. Administrative access is required to submit the payload, and the stored script executes when a regular user visits the home page.
