Stored XSS via forged settings update
Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in wpgear Hack-Info 3.17 and earlier allows remote attackers to store script through a forged settings request. The options-page settings handler lacks nonce validation, so it accepts and saves attacker-controlled values submitted through an administrator's session. Exploitation requires an administrator to open an attacker-controlled link; the stored script then runs in later page views under the victim's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
