CVE-2024-5428Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Product-price tampering via forged administrative POST request

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

CSRF in SourceCodester Simple Online Bidding System 1.0 allows remote attackers to alter product prices through an administrator browser. The save_product() handler accepts a credentialed multipart POST and writes regular_price and start_bid values without binding the request to an intentional administrator action. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled content, after which the forged request changes auction pricing with that session authority.
