Stored XSS via unescaped image titles
Published Jun 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Firelight LightPress Lightbox 1.5.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through image titles. The plugin reads title text from lightboxed link or image attributes and inserts it into the lightbox display without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required; the stored script runs when a visitor accesses the affected page, enabling code execution in that visitor's browser.
